Candace Roussel

Candace Dance Company is owned and operated by Candace Roussel. She has led Candace Dance Company competition teams to win national titles all over the country. She studied under Cydni Hutson for over 24 years and was a member of her instructional staff for over 10 years. Candace was a Soloist and Artist in Residence of Twin City Ballet Company. She has competed and performed all over the country at well-known conventions and centers, such as New York City Dance Alliance, Starpower, JUMP, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway in New York City. She was named Regional Outstanding Dancer numerous times at New York City Dance Alliance and served as a Junior Member of the Southern Association of Dance Masters. Candace also performed in an off-broadway production titled "Shake the Floor," where she performed with "So You Think You Can Dance" runner-up Danny Tidwell and SYTYCD winner Travis Wall. Candace has studied under prestigious, world-renowned dancers, such as Joe Tremaine, Debra Allen, "So You Think You Can Dance" choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon, Tyce Diorio, Nick Lazzareni, Mia Michaels, Mandi Moore, Ray Leeper, and Dave Scott to name a few. Recently, Candace received the opportunity to work for Dancing with the Stars. She worked closely with Witney Carson, Vanilla Ice, and Dancing with the Stars field producers to rehearse and film for an episode at Candace Dance Company's studio. Candace continues to travel to competitions and conventions all over the country to further her dance knowledge and stay current with new trends. She believes it is very important to continually further her knowledge and evolve as dance changes in order to provide fresh new choreography and dance instruction. Her choreography has won numerous awards nationally. During her college career, Candace was a Louisiana Tech cheerleader for 3 years and a member of the Regal Blues dance team for 1 year. She loves sharing her love of dance with children of all ages!

Gabby Pueblo

Gabrielle Pueblo began dancing at the age of four. She began competing at the age of 13 and attended competitions and conventions in the Ark-la-tex area including, Showstopper, NYLA, Talent on Parade, Nexstar, and KAR. Gabby also began as a teachers assistant at the age of 13. Gabby has taken classes from many well known dancer and choreographers, such as Fikshun, Dusty Button, Angel Roberts, Taylor Quinn, Mary Ann Lamb, Geo Hubela, Dena Rizzo, Arielle Elonys, Aaron Burr, and Haley Mac Cooper. Gabby also spent a summer at camp in Dallas Texas learning from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Gabby has always had a strong passion for dance and teaching. She plans to continue helping young dancers grow and watch them become as passionate about dance as she is!

Jessica Anderson

Jessica’s love for dance started at an early age where she would record endless hours of dance and cheer competitions on VHS  tapes and teach herself the routines. She attended Northwestern State where she was a member of the Purple Pizzaz dance team before pursuing her career in Nursing. She is now a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pediatrics, and truly has a passion for working with children. Her love of dance combined with her professional experience with children makes her an asset to our studio. 
She is trained in various forms of dance, and has studied under many choreographers. Jessica and her husband Kevin live in Benton, and are the proud parents of three children, Austin, Lila, and Carter. Austin will start LSU this fall; Carter is an avid hunter and fisherman; and Lila enjoys competitive dance and cheer. In her spare time, Jessica loves spending time on the lake with her family and friends, traveling, and LSU football. She also has a heart for serving children placed in foster care through Unite-Foster Care Ministry.

Jamie

Jamie is a Texas Native originally from the North Dallas area where she began her dance training before moving to Louisiana. Jamie has performed in the Aloha Bowl in Honolulu Hawaii and the Cotton Bowl in Dallas,Texas. She was also invited to perform in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin Ireland. During her collegiate years Jamie was a Northwestern State University Demon Dazzler, a Kilgore College Rangerettes Alternate, and a member of The Ladies in Gold Dance Team. She was a dance scholarship recipient for Kilgore College, Northwestern State University, and Centenary College of Louisiana. Jamie was a member of both Kilgore College Dance Company and Escaped Images Dance Company. She was awarded the NCA Collegiate All American Pom/Dance Award and was a semifinalist for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders during this time. Jamie graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Professionally Jamie has served as a dancer and/or choreographer/director for teams in the AFL, ABA, CFL, CFLA, WPHL, WCW and Texas League Baseball. Jamie has choreographed pregame and halftime shows for the AFL Arena Cup, ABA Championships and the Independence Bowl seen on ESPN. She has also choreographed for local commercials and industrials including Miss Hawaiian Tropic National Competition at Horseshoe Casino. Jamie was also a company dancer with the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, Superstars Live Show at El Dorado Casino and Dance Captain for Horseshoe Casino CMT Girls. Jamie has choreographed competition routines for several high schools in Texas and Louisiana. Her custom choreography earned an NBA halftime performance during a San Antonio Spurs game. Jamie has been involved in various film projects including “The Man from Mars” which won the Louisiana Film Prize in 2016. She owned and operated Red River Dance Studio/Jamie‘s Academy of Dance in Bossier City for twelve years. Her competition teams have earned multiple state, regional, and national honors. She has also instructed Zumba, Pilates, Spin and Barre fitness classes at various health and wellness centers and for Barksdale Air Force Base. Currently, Jamie is a teacher at Marshall High School where she has served as the Fine Arts Department dance teacher, cheer coach, summer school English teacher and credit recovery teacher. She is the proud mother of two sons and loves to spend time with her loved ones as much as possible.

Jamie is excited to be teaching Pointe, Teen Competition Technique and Senior Pre Pro Competition Technique for Candace Dance Company.
