Candace Roussel

Candace Dance Company is owned and operated by Candace Roussel. She has led Candace Dance Company competition teams to win national titles all over the country. She studied under Cydni Hutson for over 24 years and was a member of her instructional staff for over 10 years. Candace was a Soloist and Artist in Residence of Twin City Ballet Company. She has competed and performed all over the country at well-known conventions and centers, such as New York City Dance Alliance, Starpower, JUMP, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway in New York City. She was named Regional Outstanding Dancer numerous times at New York City Dance Alliance and served as a Junior Member of the Southern Association of Dance Masters. Candace also performed in an off-broadway production titled "Shake the Floor," where she performed with "So You Think You Can Dance" runner-up Danny Tidwell and SYTYCD winner Travis Wall. Candace has studied under prestigious, world-renowned dancers, such as Joe Tremaine, Debra Allen, "So You Think You Can Dance" choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon, Tyce Diorio, Nick Lazzareni, Mia Michaels, Mandi Moore, Ray Leeper, and Dave Scott to name a few. Recently, Candace received the opportunity to work for Dancing with the Stars. She worked closely with Witney Carson, Vanilla Ice, and Dancing with the Stars field producers to rehearse and film for an episode at Candace Dance Company's studio. Candace continues to travel to competitions and conventions all over the country to further her dance knowledge and stay current with new trends. She believes it is very important to continually further her knowledge and evolve as dance changes in order to provide fresh new choreography and dance instruction. Her choreography has won numerous awards nationally. During her college career, Candace was a Louisiana Tech cheerleader for 3 years and a member of the Regal Blues dance team for 1 year. She loves sharing her love of dance with children of all ages! 

Meet Our Instructors

Ms Emily grew up in Winter Park, FL where she studied dance at the Royal School of Dance as a member of Ballet Orlando and Orlando City Ballet. As a youth, she performed throughout the southeast and with central Florida entertainment companies. Her dancing continued at Valencia College, University of South Florida and Jacksonville University where she received a BFA in Dance Performance with minors in Theatre and Humanities. Her performance career continued after graduation as a member of Nao Dance Collective.

She has been a dance educator throughout the U.S. for over 20 years for private dance studios in FL, OH, and MA, performing arts middle schools and high schools in FL and NM, and as an adjunct professor at Valencia College in Orlando, FL and Dean College in Franklin, MA. In addition to teaching Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Contemporary, Improv, Tap and Jazz, Ms Emily is a Module 1 and Module 2 Certified Instructor for Acrobatic Arts.

Ms Emily is an award-wining choreographer who has been celebrated for new works in Florida, New Mexico, Ohio, Massachusetts and Germany. She has been a choreographer in residence for Valencia College and Dr. Phillips High School for over a decade. She enjoys exploring new movement for concert dance and the competition stage.

In addition to teaching and choreographing, Emily has served as an adjudicator and a judge for a major dance competition for the past five years. She has enjoyed sharing her love of technique and artistry in her critiques with teachers and students all over the country.

Ms Emily recently moved to Bossier City with her husband who is stationed at Barksdale AFB. They have a 14 year old English Bulldog named Dixie. Ms Emily is excited to join the CDC family and share her passion for dance and the performing arts.

Lori is a native of Bossier City with over 26 yrs experience of dance instruction and choreography in all genres of dance. She is the former owner and director of Rhythm-in-Motion n School of Dance.

Lori graduated from University of Louisiana Monroe with a BS in Pre-Medicine/ Biology. She was a member of the Warbonnets Danceline, and the Little Indians Pom Pom Dance/Cheer Squad where she served as captain.

Over the last 2 decades, Lori has instructed thousands of girls in the tri-state area. She has traveled all over the US studying under multiple professional instructors and choreographers to continue her education to stay up to date with all current dance trends.

Lori is a Member of the National Dance Teachers Association and the National Dance Coaches Association and has led many dance groups and students to Award winning National Championship titles.

Lori has a huge passion for dance and instructing girls to be the best they can be! She considers it an honor to have the opportunity to help young ladies build self-esteem, and go above and beyond to help her dance students achieve all of their personal dance goals.

Allison Singleton

Allison Singleton is one of Candace Dance Company’s accomplished instructors. Her passion for dance began at age 4.  She studied under the successful instructor Cydni Hutson for 14 years in the disciplines of ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary.  She was also a member of Cydni’s instructional staff for 6 years.  She has competed and performed at well-known conventions such as New York City Dance Alliance, Starpower, and JUMP.  Allison has studied under prominent dancers, such as Joe Tremaine, Travis Wall, Laurie Johnson, “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon, Tyce Diorio, Mia Michaels, and Mandy Moore, to name a few.   She graduated from LSU in December 2012 with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education along with an additional certification for grades 7-12 Mathematics.  She has taught 4th, 7th, & 9th grades, but is currently not teaching to be at home with her daughter, Ella.

Gabrielle Pueblo

Gabrielle Pueblo began dancing at the age of four. She began competing at the age of 13 and attended competitions and conventions in the Ark-la-tex area including, Showstopper, NYLA, Talent on Parade, Nexstar, and KAR. Gabby also began as a teachers assistant at the age of 13. Gabby has taken classes from many well known dancer and choreographers, such as Fikshun, Dusty Button, Angel Roberts, Taylor Quinn, Mary Ann Lamb, Geo Hubela, Dena Rizzo, Arielle Elonys, Aaron Burr, and Haley Mac Cooper. Gabby also spent a summer at camp in Dallas Texas learning from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Gabby has always had a strong passion for dance and teaching. She plans to continue helping young dancers grow and watch them become as passionate about dance as she is! 

Jocelyn Ortega

Jocelyn’s passion for dance began at the age of two. Throughout the years, She studied dance at several dance studios in various states and country’s taking classes in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop. At the age of seven, Jocelyn started competing in Dance Competitions and Conventions all over the states. She has received various awards from competitions including, Showstoppers, JUMP, Streetz, NUVO, KAR, Triumph, NYLA. Jocelyn was crowned Miss Senior NYLA in 2017. Jocelyn was given the opportunity to preform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as a Dancer. She became a Candace Dance Company Assistant at the age of 15. Jocelyn is currently attending college majoring in Business with a minor in dance in hopes of one day becoming a studio owner of her own. Jocelyn’s passion for dance and teaching continues to grow! She is excited to share her love of dance with young dancers!
